RETRO BEAUTY

ELLERY is giving you psychedelic in a major way. The Australian designer said in an interview with Au. Marie Claire that her inspiration for the show is from the Zodiac and it's many faces. With her innovative shapes and her open-minded approach it's no wonder why she has party girls all over Australia running to get the look.

Summer Getaway

I'M thinking my mid-summer scent is going to be BOND NO.9 ANDY WARHOL MONTAUK. Its inspired by his summer getaways in Montauk NY. It's unisex with blends of honeysuckle, white laurel and blueberry with notes of silver maple and red oak. Sounds like the perfect blend for a sterling smelling summer. ($220;Saks)

Mental Illness meet Art- Art, Mental Illness

For those of you that aren't familiar with Yayoi Kusama, she is a fascinating Japanese artist. She’s known for her "obsessive art" from repetitious patterns to out right genius piles upon piles of beautiful shapes and colors it's no wonder a creation of hers goes for $5.1 million dollars.  The alluring quality of her art is so strong, even at a glance it takes you to a world far and beyond. It's no surprise that it's all created through her hallucinations; she has long struggled with mental illness. Click on http://www.yayoi-kusama.jp and get a little crazy.

Banana Joke #4- Tom: What did the banana say to the elephant? Nick: I don’t know. Tom: Nothing. Bananas can’t talk.

HAHA gets me every time. I was randomly photo hunting on google today and wondered if I can find something inspiring about every photo I came across. Truth is I actually could- don’t’ get me wrong I didn’t paint the Mona Lisa afterwards or anything. But I did come across this picture of bananas and thought how fascinating Andy Warhol’s mind must have been to take something this simple and make people see it as art. It made me take a look around the room and see the beauty in the items I have just lying around.

Giving Garbage A Voice

This piece of cardboard is more inspiring then some famous people I've met. IM JUST SAYING. No matter who you are or what you have there is always room for you to shine. If you’re a good person good things are always a few steps away, the hard times you endure are created to give you the strength to get there. Don’t surround yourself by garbage (people) that makes you feel your not good enough; chances are their not. Shine like the STAR that you are, if they judge you they're just jealous of your courage.

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow:

For all you girls out there having conversations about whether or not you should cut your hair, stop irritating everyone and HELLO just go for it! If you’re asking, you’re definitely in need of a change. So what’s scary about it? Grab a photo of a style and call your local salon. Besides the fact it totally grows back; it also doesn’t have to be so extreme a few inches could look chic al la Coco Chanel. Lets Imagine Carrie Bradshaw shaved her head and got the cover of Vogue would we like her any less? It would definitely get our attention. Unless you take chances you’ll never really figure out what works for you. I say DO IT!! And send me before and after pictures.
